Beech Creek’s Furst Corner Restaurant Closing Sunday

BEECH CREEK — An era will end at 39 Main Street in Beech Creek when the Furst Corner Restaurant will cease operations at the end of the day on Sunday.

Charles and Donna Bittner bought the building in 1986, restored the structure and opened the restaurant, serving diners for 31 years. According to social media Mrs. Bittner is ready to retire and the building and adjoining bed and breakfast are for sale. The restaurant had developed a reputation for outstanding traditional dining and homemade pies.

The restaurant building dates to 1862, constructed by Beech Creek businessman George Furst.
