Three Keystone Central Ball Teams Head to Postseason
LOCK HAVEN—Pairings have been announced for postseason district playoff games and three Keystone Central teams will be participating. They are the Bucktail softball team (9-8), the Central Mountain softball team (12-7) and the Central Mountain baseball team (13-7).
The Lady Bucks of Bucktail will be first up, making their first-ever district playoff appearance, a District 4 Class A quarterfinal contest at home Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. against St. John Neumann (8-7). The Lady Bucks already own an 11-9 regular season win over the Williamsport team. Bucktail earned a #4 seed, St. John Neumann #5. Top seed is Muncy (17-3).
The two Central Mountain teams have qualified for the District 6 5A championship games. The Lady Wildcat softball team is the top seed and will play at a time to be announced Wednesday, May 24 at Penn State’s Nittany Lion Softball Park against the winner of a Monday game at DuBois (8-9) between the Lady Beavers and Hollidaysburg (0-16). Central Mountain fell to DuBois by a 6-1 score in the regular season.
The Central Mountain baseball team is a #2 seed behind #1` Hollidaysburg (16-1). They are scheduled to meet Saturday, May 27 in Altoona at a time to be announced. The Golden Tigers defeated Central Mountain by a 9-3 score on March 29.
