Police Investigating Body Found in Lock Haven Apartment

LOCK HAVEN – City police closed down Corning Street in Lock Haven today, Dec. 22, about 9 a.m. as they began investigating a scene where a body was found.

Police Chief Keith Kibler confirmed a body was found in an apartment above Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, 102 Bellefonte Ave.

“We found a person who was deceased for an extended period of time,” Kibler said.

The victim’s age, gender and cause of death were not released.

Kibler said people were cleaning out an apartment this morning when the body was found, and the cleaners notified city police.

The state police Records and Identification Unit is assisting city police at the scene, he added.
