LOCK HAVEN — A Renovo woman was the driver in a Monday night pedestrian accident in the parking lot at the Bellefonte Avenue McDonalds.

Donna Stout told city police she was pulling into a handicapped parking stall and “hit the brakes;” but she said her van accelerated so she turned the steering wheel to the left to keep from going into the restaurant.

The victim, Robert Bailor, 56, of Lock Haven told police he was standing outside the restaurant when the van struck him in the back and hip area. He was placed in an ambulance then Life-Flighted from the nearby Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot directly to the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. A spokesman there today listed his condition as serious.

Police said the Stout woman and her passengers, Karen Stout and Heather Stout, were not injured. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene. In addition to striking Bailor, it also ran into a tree and two outside concrete tables.
