Chapman Township Community Picnic
NORTH BEND – Despite stifling heat temperatures in high eighties and nineties, a large number of people turned out last Saturday afternoon for the second annual Chapman Township picnic event held in and at Chapman Township Fire Company. Township secretary Beth Whitty, who with the help of volunteers organized the event said the turnout was greater than last year. Especially popular again this year was the indoor Clyde Peeling Reptile presentation which included live snakes and other reptiles and the 30-foot long outdoor water slide ride for youngsters. Also popular were the Red Hill display tour and the indoor potluck dinner featuring a tasty variety of dishes made and shared by Chapman Township residents. Bud & The Dynamics, observing their 51st year making music together, provided music throughout the afternoon.
