Second State Police Drug Bust in Two Days in Lock Haven

psp-logoLOCK HAVEN — For the second time in two days, state police from the Lamar barracks have made a drug arrest while patrolling through Lock Haven.

This stop occurred on Henderson Street and involved an as yet unidentified 30 year white male from Lock Haven; he was taken into custody and detained at the Clinton County Correctional Facility on a county probation detainer.

Trooper Andrew Mincer’s report said the traffic stop took place at about 1 p.m. today “following observation of a suspended operator driving his motor vehicle. Further investigation revealed suspicious activity and indicators of drug activity were observed in the passenger compartment…a search was conducted of the vehicle.”

The investigating officer said he was assisted at the scene by Trooper Aaron Tiracorda, a K9 trooper and “K9 Tom,” a specially trained dog which provided assistance in the vehicle search. The police report said 64 heroin packets were taken into custody from the passenger compartment and the pants pocket of the operator who was then transported to the county lockup on the probation detainer.

Yesterday two troopers arrested a Bald Eagle Township man, Vincent Sojka II, on charges of possession with intent to deliver amphetamines and related offenses. He is in the Clinton County Correctional Facility. That arrest came after what police said was suspicious activity in front of the Keller and Munro pharmacy on East Church Street in Lock Haven.

These two most recent drug-related arrests run the total to three in the last few weeks made by local state police while patrolling in Lock Haven.
