Wilson Found ‘Not Guilty’

LOCK HAVEN — A Clinton County Court jury has returned a not guilty verdict in the case of a Renovo man charged with raping a borough female.

The jury announced its not guilty verdict at 1:10 this afternoon in the case against Robert W. Wilson, 47, of 210 Clinton St., Renovo. The case had gone to the jury at 10:30 this morning.

State police had arrested Wilson last summer and charged him with drugging and then repeatedly and violently raping the alleged victim over a six hour period. Defense counsel Robert O’Connor argued the case was a classic “he said/she said” situation. Prosecutor deputy attorney general Rebecca Frantz told the jury the victim had been “betrayed” by someone she thought to be a friend.

President Judge Craig Miller heard the trial which lasted a day and a half.
