Let There Be Light
LOCK HAVEN — The top of the Clinton County Courthouse is all but dark these days but the building’s Water Street entrance is now well lighted.
A crew from HRI Inc yesterday placed the street light poles and today mounted the bulbs to go atop them and at dusk tonight the new Water Street lights came on, running from the courthouse intersection at Jay Street west to Grove Street. All that remains for completion of that link of Lock Haven’s downtown beautification program is installation of parking meter heads on the meter posts which were recently installed.
Once the meters are up and running the two phases of the Water Street work will be completed, phase one finished last year, that section from Grove to Vesper Streets. The Water Street fix-up covers the final of some 15 downtown Lock Haven blocks to have received upgrades, including rebuilt sidewalks and curbing. The city has been seeking state funding to do similar work on E. Church St., but so far without success.
