cm-basketballJERSEY SHORE — The Central Mountain girls basketball team (2-14) made at serious run at Jersey Shore Tuesday night, but the Lady Wildcat offense deserted them in the second half and the host Lady Bulldogs (6-10) went on to a 33-25 victory.

CM had seven field goals in the first half but could put but two through the net in the second half, ruining an otherwise fine defensive effort.

The second half was a battle. The contest was tied at 21-all after three quarters but a 12-5 fourth quarter edge gave ‘Shore the home court win.

Julia Novosat led CM with 9 points. Emily Strouse and Grayson McCloy had 5 each. Elaina Eckley followed with 4, Lydia McCaleb with 2 and Avery Pringle with 1.

Central Mountain will host Selinsgrove Thursday night and visit Tyrone for a 3 p.m. game Saturday.
