LHU Falls to Shippensburg 96-84
LOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven University men’s basketball team (10-6, 6-6 PSAC) dropped a crucial Wednesday home matchup to Shippensburg University (11-5, 8-4 PSAC) 96-84 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) action.
The Bald Eagles fell behind early and could never quite catch up in a game which saw the visitors go the foul line 44 times.
Leading the way for the Bald Eagles was Lamin Fulton(Philadelphia/Neumann Goretti) who scored 18 points in his first career start at The Haven.
Fulton went 4 of 8 from three-point land and added four assists and two steals.
Brahieme Jackson (Philadelphia/Bishop McDevitt) netted 16 points on 6 of 10 shooting and pulled down three boards.
Bootsie Walker (Chester, Pa./Chester) chipped in with 13 points, four rebounds and four assists and Tracy Peal (Wilmington, Del./Archbishop John Carroll) added 10 points.
Dave Garcia (Scotrun, Pa./Pocono Mt. East) drilled three three-pointers off the LHU bench, finishing with nine points.
Shippensburg made the most of its opportunities tonight, cashing in on 37 of 44 free throw attempts (84.1%).
Tony Ellis and Antonio Kellem led the Raiders with 20 points each.
LHU hits the court again on Saturday, January 16 at Bloomsburg University (3 p.m.).
