Jersey Shore Prevails over Lady Wildcats 47-34

cm-basketballBALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – In a hard-fought game with both teams exhibiting aggressive defensive play, Jersey Shore prevailed 47-34.

Both the Lady Wildcats and the Lady Bulldogs attacked the ball relentlessly from the very start of the game and neither team broke away from that task until the final buzzer sounded.

The difference in the game was Jersey Shore was able to convert more possessions into points on the score board. Keith team broke double digits with Shore holding a 9-5 edge after one quarter, though both teams nearly doubled that effort in less than two minutes of the second quarter with 13-8 lead with 6 minutes remaining in the half. The Lady Wildcats managed to c,one that gap, trailing 27-21 at the break.

In the third quarter, both teams struggle equally in their offensive efforts with JS edging Central Mountain 8-7 for a 35-38 advantage heading into the final stanza. In the final period, Jersey Shore was able to double up on the Lady ‘Cats 12-6 to close out the effort with the 47-34 win.

Leading the effort for Central Mountain was Grayson McCloy, 12; Lydia MacCaleb, 9; and Elaina Eckley, 4 points. Arie Pringle had 3 points on the night while Julia Novosat, Emily Strouse and Dayna Fourney all contributed 2 points.

Next up for the Lady Wildcats is road trip to Mifflinburg on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016.
