State Police Investigate Child Luring Incident

FLEMINGTON — State police say a man attempted to lure a teen-aged girl into his car along Woods Avenue in Flemington Friday night but left the scene when she screamed.

Investigating officer John Schall said the incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Friday on Woods Avenue near Shady Lane. His report said a 15-year-old Flemington female was riding her bicycle home when a light colored 1990s era sedan stopped; an unknown man asked if she wanted to see some “bunnies.” The investigating officer said the car driver got out, opened a rear door and made a lunge at the victim but retreated to his car after she screamed.

State police said the man is believed to be white, in his late 40’s, about 5’8,” 180 pounds and wearing an unknown colored ball cap, blue jeans and a white t-shirt. Anyone with information on the incident or similar incidents should contact state police at Lamar.
