Daytime Detour Remains as Work Continues

pdot2RENOVO — A detour remains in place for a closed section of Hyner Run Road (Route 1014) as drainage work takes place. The road has been closed since March between the intersection of Hyner Run State Park and Pat’s Ridge Road. The road was first closed for tree removal work this spring. That work is complete and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is now performing drainage work to be followed by paving.

An update from PennDOT this week said the state agency’s Clinton County maintenance force is working Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Detour signs remain up but the road is passable during night time hours and on weekends. The PennDOT release cautioned drivers that there is no guide rail along this section of the road.

Emergency vehicles will be accommodated through the closed section as necessary, and message boards and detour signing are in place to alert drivers to the daytime closure and detour. Drainage and paving work is expected to keep this section of Hyner Run Road closed through September.

PennDOT noted the official detour is lengthy and will direct motorists to use Routes 44, 144, and 120. The detour will take drivers through parts of Clinton, Lycoming, and Potter counties. Motorists familiar with the area may choose to use alternate routes. Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits, follow official detour signs, and always buckle up.
