Coploff, Ryan & Houser Announces Temporary Office Relocation, Extends Thanks to Community For Assistance

LOCK HAVEN – On Sunday night, December 21, 2025, the building at 136 East Water Street in Lock Haven, occupied by the law offices of Coploff, Ryan & Houser and two residential apartments, was badly damaged by a fire. Within just four hours, heroic efforts to put out the two-alarm fire were completely successful and everyone was safe. And within just 24 hours, the office was substantially moved to its temporary new location, just down the street at 146 East Water Street, the former RobertsMiceli Law Offices.

The partners and staff wish to extend their sincere appreciation, first, to the firefighters and first responders who so quickly attended to the fire with an extremely coordinated response. They then secured the interior of the building to prevent further damage. Those responding included Dunnstown Fire Company, Citizen’s Hose Company, Goodwill Hose Company, Avis Fire Company, Nittany Valley Fire Company, Goodwill Hose Company Ambulance Association, Lock Haven EMS, Renovo Fire Department, and Eastside Fire Rescue, together with the Clinton County Emergency Management Agency, the American Red Cross, and the Lock Haven City Police.

The relocation could not have occurred so quickly or efficiently without the assistance of many members of the community who selflessly gave their time, talents, and efforts to transport the heavy files, equipment, and some furniture to the office’s new location before inclement weather set in.

“Now more than ever we are honored to serve the caring community that is Clinton County, as I am awed at the generous hearts and kind hands of our neighbors in our time of need,” said Justin Houser, a partner at the firm. “I hope that we can repay this kindness forward tenfold,” he added. “The spontaneous generosity of our friends and neighbors made for a true Christmas miracle of which our whole community can be proud.”

The firm thanks its clients for their patience as the work of organizing files and setting up phone service continues, but emphasizes that clients are immediately welcome to visit the offices in person and to communicate with the firm via e-mail.
