Pine Creek Township Police Department News: 

Pine Creek Township Police Launch “Operation Christmas 2025” to Support Local Families

The Pine Creek Township Police Department is now accepting applications from families for its “Operation Christmas” program. This program is an initiative that aims to provide Christmas gifts to families in need within the Avis Borough, Dunnstable Township, Wayne Township, and Pine Creek Township areas.

Community residents who have not participated in the program in the past two years are eligible and can come to the Pine Creek Township Police Department located at 23 Municipal Drive, Avis, PA, to sign up and provide a wish list, including gift ideas and clothing sizes for their children if there is a need for assistance. 

Parents can come to the Police Department on the following dates:

• Friday, November 21 – 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. 
• Saturday, November 29 – 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.    
• Friday, December 5 – 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

The Pine Creek Township Police Department is pleased to have help again this year with additional sign-up times provided by a local business. Individuals who are unable to come to the police department may also sign up at Aungst Cuts, 24 W. Central Avenue in Avis. During the month of November, sign-ups at this location will be available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Gifts will be purchased at a local store, where parents or guardians will meet with staff from the Pine Creek Township Police Department. Eligibility for this program is not based on family income. The only requirements are that children must be age 15 or younger, and families must provide proof of residency in one of the municipalities served by the Pine Creek Township Police Department. Additionally, families must present a photo ID of the guardian, a current utility bill, and proof of guardianship for the children.

Businesses or individuals who wish to make a monetary contribution to the Pine Creek Township Police Department’s Operation Christmas Program may mail their donations to: 

PO Box 596, Avis, PA 17721. Please make checks payable to “Operation Christmas.”
