BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Keystone Central School Board conducted public interviews for a Region III school board member during a special meeting that was held on Tuesday, October 28. The interviews were visible to the public via the school district YouTube channel and can be found there.
The cause for the interviews was due to the recent resignation of board member Polly Donahay who represented the area that Region III represents: Beech Creek Township, Beech Creek Borough, Curtin Township, and Liberty Township.
The individuals interviewed were Manuel Rodriguez and Dr. Kimberly Johnson.
A special voting meeting was held prior to the school board work session on Thursday, November 6 to appoint a region III representative from the two candidates.
School Board President Roger Elling informed the board that though two persons were interviewed, one individual, Dr. Kimberly Johnson, was no longer eligible, due to the maling districts not lining up with the municipal districts.
Manuel Rodriguez was appointed as the Region III Representative to the Keystone Central School District.
Rodriguez is a resident of Blanchard and has two children who attend school within the district.
