FARWELL- The PIAA District IV 2A tennis tournament is set to kick off this week and Bucktail’s late season push has the Lady Bucks at the number three seed and they will host the Lady Green Dragons of Lewisburg on Thursday, October 9.

Lewisburg (11-5), the sixth seed will be making the trip to Bucktail (12-1) for their quarterfinal matchup between a PHAC program and the 2025 Mid Penn Conference champions.

Start time is set for 4pm.

The winner of the Bucktail vs. Lewisburg match will meet the winners of the Loyalsock (16-1) and Central Columbia (11-6) matchup in Loyalsock.

South Williamsport (9-7) grabbed the eight spot and will host number 9 Wellsboro (6-6) in the play-in match on Tuesday for the right to meet top seeded Danville (16-0) in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

The survivor of the Danville, South Williamsport and Wellsboro portion of the bracket will meet the winners of the Hughesville (15-2) and Montgomery (11-3) matchup, which will take place on Thursday at Hughesville.

The top two finishers in District IV will both receive automatic bids into the PIAA 2A state tournament. Bucktail has yet to advance beyond the quarterfinals, but with four talented seniors, they could very well make history.

The Lady Bucks singles lineup is made up of three seniors. Eva Sockman leads the way at number one. Kendall Wagner steps in at the number two spot and Lola English anchors the Bucktail singles lineup.

Senior McKenna Bissman and freshman Kelsie Wagner have been hot down the stretch as Bucktail’s number one doubles team. Carrie Ditty and Riley Salizonni complete the Lady Bucks’ lineup as the number two doubles tandem.
