Optimist’s Roundtable
By Martha Sykes
Looking back on this week, there has been a lot going on in our community to be proud of!! We had our yearly “ See you at the Pole” prayer circle at the schools and it was a great turnout with adults and children. A few of the students even prayed for their friends and their teachers.
Many people joined in a project to clean up the town and some of our school students participated.
There was a fundraiser for a family who has been struggling due to an accident that turned out to be very successful.
Our Renovo Library dedicated their little garden to Marlene Lewis, who passed away last year. She was the one who started the planting and decorating years ago so it was an honor to memorialize her in this way.
For a small community, it is amazing how people care for those who go through trials and go above and beyond to donate their time or their funds to make life better for those in need!!
This next week, we will be preparing for the biggest weekend of the year in Renovo! It will be our time to shine in many ways. It will bring a smile to my face to see the chairs being lined up along the parade route early in the week. It will be an exciting time for sure, so put out your best decorations and have your signs out to make our visitors feel welcome!!
I am grateful that God has blessed our community with the beauty of this area….. not only in the mountains but in the hearts of the people!!
