Lindsay Captures Third Straight District 6 Singles Title

ALTOONA – Central Mountain’s Addison Lindsay added another milestone to her remarkable career this week, claiming her third consecutive District 6 girls tennis singles championship.

Seeded No. 1, Lindsay received a first-round bye before cruising through the quarterfinals with a 6–0, 6–0 victory over Altoona’s Andie Adams. She followed with another dominant 6–0, 6–0 win in the semifinals against Hollidaysburg’s Grace Muriceak.

In the final, Lindsay was set to face Hollidaysburg’s Crosby Denis, but Denis was forced to withdraw due to a hand injury suffered in her semifinal win, giving Lindsay the championship by medical forfeit. The two had met earlier in the season, with Lindsay winning 6–0, 6–0.

Lindsay now becomes a three-time District 6 champion. She previously finished as the state runner-up her freshman year and captured a state championship last fall. With the district crown secured, she will return to Hershey to defend her title at the PIAA state tournament, set for October 31–November 1.
