Wildcat Girls Cross Country Earns Three Wins at LHU Quad Meet
LOCK HAVEN – The Central Mountain girls cross country team turned in a strong performance Tuesday at Lock Haven University, picking up three victories in quad meet action.
The Wildcats defeated Warrior Run 25–34, Central Columbia 17–46, and edged Milton 27–28 in a thrilling finish. The deciding moment came from freshman Abigail Winslow, who delivered the performance of the day. With about a quarter mile remaining, Winslow trailed a Milton runner, but she found another gear down the home stretch to surge past her opponent. That move secured the critical point that gave Central Mountain the narrow win over Milton.
Three Wildcats set personal records on the day:
-
Kaylie McCloskey – 24:42.30
-
Abigail Winslow – 24:46.80
-
Sophia Hoy – 26:39.40
With the victories, Central Mountain improves to 10-2 on the season. The Wildcats will next travel to Hershey on Saturday to compete in the 19th PIAA Foundation XC Invitational.
