Wildcat Boys Soccer Blank South Williamsport, 3-0

MILL HALL – The Central Mountain boys soccer team defended their home field Thursday night with a 3-0 win over South Williamsport.

The Wildcats struck first in the opening half when Tim Brinker buried a free kick from just outside the box, giving Central Mountain a 1-0 lead at the break. The defense held firm, and while the attack created several chances, they couldn’t add to the tally before halftime.

That changed quickly after the restart. Dylan Bechdel scored in the very first minute of the second half off a setup by Che McAllister, then added another just two minutes later on a pass from Griffin Confer to make it 3-0.

Central Mountain’s defense kept South Williamsport off the board the rest of the way, securing the team’s second win of the young season.

The Wildcats (2-1) return to action Saturday at home against Penns Valley. The JV match kicks off at 10 a.m., followed by varsity at 11:30. The girls’ varsity team will also be in action at 1:00 as part of the tripleheader.
