Beatrice “Bebe” Fultz to Speak at Genealogical Society Program

LOCK HAVEN – The Clinton County Genealogical Society will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, September 9, at 7:00 PM in the Poorman Gallery, 352 E. Water Street, Lock Haven. The program is free and open to the public.

This month’s featured speaker, Beatrice “Bebe” Fultz, will present on the remarkable life of her ancestor, Sybil Ludington—often remembered as the “female Paul Revere.” In 1777, at just sixteen years old, Sybil rode more than forty miles through the night to warn American troops that the British were advancing on Danbury, Connecticut, where vital supplies of weapons and ammunition were stored. Her courageous ride remains one of the most inspiring yet lesser-known stories of the Revolutionary War.

In addition to the program, a short business meeting will be held to elect the society’s next vice president and treasurer.

The Clinton County Genealogical Society welcomes anyone with an interest in family history or local heritage. To learn more, visit clintoncountypagenealogicalsociety.org.
