Wildcats Rebound With 8-1 Win Over St. Mary’s

DUBOIS-After dropping their season opener to DuBois on Friday night, the Central Mountain boys soccer team responded in a big way Saturday, cruising to an 8-1 victory over St. Mary’s.

Senior Gabe Killinger got things started with the Wildcats’ first goal of the 2025 campaign, assisted by Griffin Confer. Once the scoring opened, Central Mountain never looked back. Tim Brinker and Yurek Lamey each netted two goals, while Ben Brinker, Nolan Cross, and Confer added one apiece.

The strikes by Tim, Yurek, and Ben marked their first career varsity goals, while Confer’s tally was the ninth of his career — the most of any current Wildcat.

In goal, senior Jaggar Pardoe earned the win, with sophomore Cooper Confer also seeing 20 minutes of action.

The Wildcats (1-1) will be back on the field Thursday night for their home opener against South Williamsport at Malinak Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
