Central Mountain Falls to Mifflin County
LEWISTOWN ā Central Mountain football traveled to Mifflin County Friday night as the Huskies celebrated the grand opening of their new home, Donald M. Chapman III Stadium. Before kickoff, Mifflin County honored supporters and donors who made the new facility possible.
On the field, it was all Huskies as Mifflin County rolled to a 42-0 victory over the Wildcats. After a scoreless first quarter, the Huskies broke the game open with 21 points in the second. Quarterback Chase Hartung sparked the surge with a 1-yard touchdown run before connecting with Joel Beamer on scoring passes of 7 and 25 yards.
Mifflin County added to its lead late in the third quarter when Hartung found Dodger Weaver from 17 yards out. In the fourth, Lucas Hartung broke free for a 27-yard rushing touchdown, and Talon Hopple sealed the win with a 40-yard interception return for a score.
The Huskies finished with 221 total yards to Central Mountainās 35. Mifflin County ran for 124 yards and threw for 97, while the Wildcats were held to just 25 rushing yards and 10 passing.
Central Mountainās offense was led by Dalton McDermott with 15 yards rushing on 8 carries and Mario Serafini with 7 yards receiving on 2 catches. Alex Johnson added 12 yards on the ground. Defensively, the Wildcats battled to contain a balanced Huskies attack but struggled with turnovers, committing three fumbles and one interception.
