FARWELL- Bucktail softball continued to reach milestones when the 2025 Pennsylvania All-State teams were released on Tuesday.
Eva Sockman, Lola English and Makenna Stone were all named to the first team. The first time Bucktail has ever grabbed three spots on the 1A first team.
For Sockman and English, it was a return to the all-state squad. Stone finally broke through in a big way following just missing the selection her freshman and sophomore seasons.
Sockman’s numbers were amongst the best in the entire state with her .526 batting average, two home runs and 31 runs batted in, while handling third base duties for the Lady Bucks.
English was the gel that held a suspect Bucktail outfield together for a majority of the season before moving into the infield. English batted .453, crushed a home run and crossed the plate 32 times, while on her way to her third all-state selection.
For Makenna Stone, the quest for an all-state nomination was a long road. Stone’s numbers her freshman and sophomore seasons were of all-state credentials. Stone was even omitted from the Mid Penn Conference all-star list, but she finally made the accomplishment moving to shortstop from second base for 2025. Stone’s .491 average was second on Bucktail. She led the team with 42 stolen bases and scored a team-high 39 runs.
The Mid Penn Conference was well represented in 1A. Montgomery first baseman Madysin Miller was named to the first team. Teammate Zoe Furman earned second team honors in the outfield.
Sullivan County catcher Kayla Fowler earned first team honors.
In 2A, Muncy’s Taylor Shannon was once again named a first team catcher.
In 4A there was more local all-state selections. The Jersey Shore duo of Dani Miller and Lynna Clark both received second team honors. Miller at shortstop and Clark as an outfielder.
