Keystone Claims District 12 Title with Gritty Win Over 3M Montoursville

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT – After falling 3-2 to 3M Montoursville on Tuesday night, the Keystone 10-12 Majors All-Stars bounced back in the winner-take-all District 12 championship game Wednesday at Volunteer Stadium, holding off a late Montoursville rally to secure a 5-4 victory and punch their ticket to the Section tournament.

Keystone jumped out early with two runs in the first inning and added insurance in the third and fourth to build a 5-1 lead. Montoursville battled back with three runs in the fifth to make it a one-run game, but Keystone’s defense held strong in the sixth to clinch the win.

Carter Leone led the offense with two RBIs. Keystone recorded just three hits on the night—one each from Jaxon Orndorf and Hunter Kisko, and a sacrifice fly by Brooks Warner.

On the mound, Giovanni Cej delivered a strong start, going 3.2 innings while allowing just one hit, walking four, and striking out eight. Dylan McDermott tossed an inning in relief, and Leone closed out the final outs to seal the victory.

Keystone now the District 12 champions will head to the section tournament held July 12 to July 16 in Towanda.
