Keystone Falls to Montoursville, Sets Up Winner-Take-All Title Game

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT – Under the lights at Volunteer Stadium on Tuesday night, the Keystone 10-12 Majors faced off against 3M Montoursville in the District 12 championship game. In a tightly contested battle, Montoursville edged out Keystone 3-2, forcing a winner-take-all rematch on Wednesday at 5:15 p.m., again at Volunteer Stadium.

Keystone struck first with a run in the opening inning to take an early 1-0 lead. Montoursville answered with a two-run third inning to move in front, then added another in the fourth to stretch their lead to 3-1. Keystone scratched across a run in the top of the fifth to make it a one-run game but couldn’t push the tying run across.

Keystone was limited to three hits on the night, coming from Dylan McDermott, Adam Meyer, and Carter Leone.

Adam Meyer pitched a strong game, going 4.1 innings while striking out nine, walking three, and allowing three hits. Dylan McDermott closed out the game, recording one strikeout in two-thirds of an inning.

With the loss, Keystone will have one more chance to claim the District 12 title in Wednesday’s deciding game.
