Theft of $881,301.15 From KCSD; Charges Filed

LOCK HAVEN— Clinton County District Attorney Dave Strouse has announced that a Georgia man was apprehended in Atlanta after authorities suspected he was attempting to flee the country.

On June 3, 2025, Trooper Christopher Moore filed charges against Dimiriafor Amamkwe, 52, of Atlanta, GA. The charges include Theft by Unlawful Taking (Felony 1), Conspiracy to Commit Theft by Unlawful Taking (Felony 1), Knowledge that Property is the Proceeds of an Illegal Act (Felony 1), and Conspiracy to Commit Access Device Fraud (Felony 3).

Keystone Central School District was identified as the victim of the theft, with a total of $881,302.15 reportedly stolen. With the assistance of the State Police and bank officials, authorities were able to recover the majority of the stolen funds. The crime took place on or around October 4, 2024.

Amamkwe is accused of orchestrating the theft by unlawfully accessing the school district’s financial accounts. He was arrested at the Atlanta Airport and subsequently waived his extradition to Pennsylvania. Last week, members of the Pennsylvania State Police transported Amamkwe back to Clinton County, where he was arraigned before District Judge Heidi Wright. Bail was denied, and Amamkwe is currently being held at the Clinton County Correctional Facility while he awaits his Preliminary Hearing, which is scheduled for August 4 at 10:30 a.m. at the Clinton County Court of Common Pleas.
