Keystone 9-11 All-Stars Fall Just Short Against Montoursville, 7-6

COGAN STATION – The Keystone 9-11 year old All-Stars saw their district tournament run come to an end Friday night in heartbreaking fashion, falling 7-6 to Montoursville in an elimination game.

Keystone came out swinging, scoring two runs in each of the first three innings to build a 6-3 lead, but Montoursville rallied with a four-run burst in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead and held on from there.

Keystone racked up seven hits on the night. Callen Bechdel hit a double, while Hunter Packer collected two hits including a double. Deagen Stover also had two hits, one of them a double, and Brady McGregor added two hits of his own.

On the mound, Packer started the game and pitched three innings, striking out three while allowing six hits. Easton Wright came on in relief and finished the final two innings, striking out one.

The loss ends a strong district run for Keystone, who showed grit and offensive firepower throughout the tournament.
