Keystone Intermediates Fall to Tri-Town in District 12 Title Game, 12-2
MONTOURSVILLE – The Keystone Intermediate All-Stars saw their District 12 run come to an end Sunday afternoon, falling to Tri-Town by a 12-2 score in the championship game at Montgomery.
Tri-Town used a steady offensive attack and strong pitching to take the title, scoring in four of the five innings played. The District 12 champs tallied 12 runs on 7 hits and took advantage of multiple walks and errors to pull away.
Keystone got on the board in the second inning thanks to a two-run home run by Cain Reem, which also brought in Chase Karstetter following his single.
On the mound, Carter Miller started for Keystone, pitching 2 innings and giving up 4 hits, 8 runs striking out one. Reem came on in relief, going 1.2 innings and allowing 3 hits, 4 runs.
Tri-Town’s Kaden C. went the distance, tossing a 5-inning complete game with 2 hits allowed, 2 earned runs, 2 walks, and 8 strikeouts. Lyle H. added to the offensive production with a home run of his own.
With the win, Tri-Town advances to the Section 3 tournament held June 29 to July 2. Keystone wraps up its District 12 run as runner-up with a final tournament record of 2-2.
