LOCK HAVEN— The Clinton County Commissioners unveiled a special logo Thursday morning as part of the America250 PA Clinton County campaign, which honors the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary and highlights the theme, “250 Years and Still Growing.”

With the nation set to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 2026, Clinton County officials are actively participating in the statewide America250 PA effort. The local campaign, led by Maria Boileau and Elizabeth Whitty, is designed to inspire reflection on both the county’s history and its continuing growth.

“As you may know, America250 is the national initiative, America250 PA is the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s initiative, and America250 PA Clinton County is the county’s initiative to celebrate America’s past, present, and future. We have one year, two months, and nine days to July 4, 2026,” Boileau said during the meeting. “America 250 PA was created in 2018, and it was known as the Pennsylvania Commission for the United States Semiquincentennial, or simply put, America250 PA.”

Boileau also highlighted Pennsylvania’s chosen theme for the celebration: “Epic: Educate, Preserve, Innovate, and Celebrate.”

“To date, the county commissioners have joined 67 counties and signed the resolution to celebrate America250 PA. They created the committee America250 PA Clinton County and established three subcommittees, and we adopted the theme, ‘250 Years and Still Growing’. We encourage the public to join us as we start to implement this process,” Boileau said before unveiling the county’s own America250 PA branding.

A highlight of Tuesday’s meeting was the unveiling of the county’s America250 PA Clinton County logo, created by Kasey Dumm, Community Life Coordinator for the City of Lock Haven and a member of the America250 PA Clinton County Celebrate Committee. The logo will be featured on the county’s Facebook, Instagram, and website linked below, forming a central symbol for activities and celebrations.

Commissioner Jeff Snyder presented the committee with a resolution from the Lock Haven Kiwanis Club, which is the first local organization to join the initiative leading up to the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. “We hope to have all Clinton County municipalities, along with local clubs like the Kiwanis Club, businesses, schools, and community groups, join us in celebrating America’s 250th anniversary,” Snyder said.

Building on Commissioner Snyder’s remarks, Commissioner Angela Harding added, “We encourage all community members, if you’re planning an event or if you’re just doing something on your own to celebrate America 250PA specifically for Clinton County, to please engage with our social media and get in contact with Maria, because we want to, even though it’s not a contest, we want to win.”

The commissioners also extended gratitude to Kasey Dumm for her work in designing the new logo and expressed hope that all corners of the community—from towns and boroughs to clubs and individuals—will unite for a series of events and educational programs that reflect both local history and a vibrant future.
