Flemington Woman Charged in Meth By Mail Scheme and Delivery
LOCK HAVEN— Jennifer Smith, 37, of 205 Huston Street, Flemington Borough, was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police resulting from two separate investigations late last week. Investigators allegedly seized a parcel that was addressed to an elderly woman in Lock Haven that contained 920 grams (just over 2lbs) of methamphetamine.
Police then conducted a controlled delivery of the package after substituting “sham” or fake controlled substances, into the parcel. Through surveillance, police were able to observe the package being retrieved from the addressed location and transported to 205 Huston Street in Flemington where it was opened. Police then conducted a search of the Huston Street address pursuant to a search warrant and apprehended Smith on the 2nd floor of the residence. They opened the parcel inside a bedroom allegedly belonging to Smith.
Police also seized various other drug paraphernalia items, including needles and a digital scale, and other suspected controlled substances.
In a separate investigation, State Police charged Smith with the delivery of approximately 1 ounce of methamphetamine in exchange for $350 to a confidential informant. Smith was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Keith Kibler on the meth by mail case, with bail being set at $50,000. Magisterial District Judge Heidi Wright arraigned Smith on the Delivery charges and set bail at $20,000. Smith remains incarcerated with court appearances scheduled for April 21 and April 28, 2025.
