Game 1 Recap: Bloomsburg 7, Lock Haven 2
Bloomsburg jumped out to a 3-0 lead after three at-bats, but the Bald Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the third when Blair Balestrini sent a no-doubt solo home run into deep right center field.
The big fly was the second of the season for Balestrini.
However, the Huskies extended their lead to 7-1 in the top of the sixth to ultimately put the game out of reach.
Maci Brodzina singled to plate Balestrini in the bottom of the sixth to round out the scoring.
Balestrini led the Bald Eagles’ offense as she finished 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs and an RBI.
On the mound, Keri Wesneski went five innings and Abby Robertson finished the final two frames.
Game 2 Recap: Bloomsburg 9, Lock Haven 1
In game two, the Bald Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second after taking advantage of a pair of mishaps by the Huskies.
The Huskies responded with two runs in the top of the fourth, four runs in the fifth and three runs in the seventh to put the game away.
For Lock Haven, Maria Fratangelo went 2-for-4 at the dish with a triple and run scored to lead the way. Brodzina added a single and reached base three times.
Up next for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles remain home and will host Shippensburg at 2 and 4 p.m. on Friday (April 4) for a PSAC East doubleheader at Lawrence Field.
