LHU’s Women’s Track & Field wins 4×400 at Jim Taylor Invitational
SELINSGROVE– The Lock Haven women’s track and field team returned to action for week two of its outdoor season by competing in the two-day Jim Taylor Invitational hosted by Susquehanna University on Friday and Saturday.
The Jim Taylor Invitational took place on the Amos Alonzo Stagg Field at Doug Arthur Stadium.

Friday Results
Two field events took place on Friday night, March 28.
Leading the way for The Haven was a pair of throwers. Clarissa Davis finished second in the shot put with a throw of 37-11.25 and Mallory Eck finished fifth with a throw of 36-02.75.
Eck also threw in the hammer throw, cracking the top 10 with a distance of 119-04. Rounding out the events on Friday was Alyssa VanGorder, who medaled by placing third with a throw of 145-02.
Saturday Results
Leading the way on day two of the meet was the 4×400-meter relay team of Natalie Gentzel, Nicole Carroll, Lillian Bradley and Elizabeth Shultz, who finished first with a time of 4:00.13.
Reagan Irons hit a pair of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) marks in two field events this afternoon. First in the high jump, she reached a height of 5-05, placing first, and in the triple jump, she achieved a leap of 36-02, placing third.
Samantha Trench joined her fellow Bald Eagle on the podium in the high jump with a height of 5-02.25.
The pair of Gentzel and Makayla Grace Weber both medaled in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing first and second with times of 1:07.68 and 1:08.76, respectively. Also competing in the 400-meter hurdles and achieving a top 10 finish was Kelci Carle with a time of 1:11.71.
The squad of Bradley, Shultz, Sydney Stahl and Trench earned the Bald Eagles another medal, finishing third in the 4×100-meter relay with a time of 50.80.
A trio from The Haven all placed within the top-10 in the 400-meter dash: Shultz with a time of 1:00.10, Carroll with a time of 1:00.75 and Aubrey Sechrist with a time of 1:02.31.
In the field events, Eck finished in the top-five, throwing a distance of 117-07 in the discus throw, and Maria Puglia threw a distance of 118-02 in the javelin throw.
Kaydence Strange put in a respectable time of 4:59.72 in the 1,500-meter race, placing herself in the top five.
Sprinters Bradley and Weber both placed in the top-10 in their events, Bradley with a time of 12.59 in the 100-meter dash and Weber with a time of 15.96 in the 100-meter hurdles.
Adra Schell in the 10,000-meter race and Paige Daugherty in the 3,000-meter steeplechase both went the distance, finishing with times of 45:04.97 and 14:06.77.

The Bald Eagles will travel to Williamsburg, Virginia on Thursday-Saturday, April 3-5 to compete in the three-day Colonial Relays hosted by William & Mary.
