LHU’s Fratangelo homers twice in game two, Softball secures PSAC East split vs. Millersville
LOCK HAVEN – Maria Fratangelo left the yard twice and drove in seven runs to lead the Lock Haven softball team to a 10-9 victory in game two in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division doubleheader against Millersville in the Bald Eagles’ home opener on Friday. Millersville won game one 6-1.
The Haven has now won six of its last eight games to improve to 8-6 on the season and 2-2 in the PSAC East. Millersville moves to 18-6 overall and 2-2 in conference play.
The Bald Eagles’ offense was on fire and tallied 32 hits during the two games. In game two alone, five different players recorded multiple hits and the team totaled 15 base knocks.

In the nightcap, both offenses were rolling as the two teams totaled 25 hits and 19 runs.
Fratangelo led the offense by going a perfect 3-for-3, with seven RBIs as she went deep twice with a pair of three run home runs.
Abby Robertson (2B) and Maci Brodzina also picked up three hits and both drove in a run.
Keri Wesneski (2B) and Madison Melius (RBI) also finished with a multi-hit game.
Blaire Balestrini ignited the offense at the top of the order as she reached safely three times and scored twice.
The top four batters in the Bald Eagle lineup all scored twice.
The Bald Eagles had four pitchers take the mound in the nightcap. Abby Robertson pitched four innings keeping The Haven within reach by striking out five batters. Talia Ross (3-3) came in the sixth inning pitching 1.2 innings and striking out three batters to pick up the victory.

In game one, Millersville struck in the third inning and did not give up the lead.
The Bald Eagles scored in the fifth inning with an RBI single by Balestrini.
Brodzina, Robertson, Bella Schmitt and Wesneski added base hits.

The Bald Eagles remain home and will host West Chester tomorrow afternoon for a PSAC East doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. at Lawrence Field.
