LHU Baseball drops PSAC West twinbill at Cal (Pa.)

WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Lock Haven baseball team took on California (Pa.) in its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western division matchup of the season. The Bald Eagles fell in game one 15-2 and game two 14-4.

Lock Haven moves to 10-11 overall and 0-2 in the PSAC West and California (Pa.) improves to 14-2 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.

The Vulcans were held to one run in the early stages of the ball game before erupting for eight runs in the fourth and six runs in the fifth which proved to be the difference.

The Haven offense was led by Nick White, who had two hits and a double. Morgen Billotte and Bryce Vincent each drove in one run.

Matt Lingenfelter started the game for the Bald Eagles, pitching 3.2 innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out two.

California scored 13 runs between the first three innings and never looked back.

Jake Ambrosio hit a three-run homer in the fourth, his second of the season. Ethan Nagy would drive in another run in the seventh.

Robert Furino, Zachary McEllroy, Lance Baldensperger, White and Vincent also collected base knocks in the ball game.

Garrett Starr started the game for The Haven, tossing two innings.

Up Next for The Haven
The Bald Eagles are back in action tomorrow (Saturday, March 22) at Watkins Field in Lock Haven. They will take on California (Pa.) again in a doubleheader, with first pitch of game one at 1 p.m.
