CM Track & Field Ready to Build on Strengths for 2025 Season

MILL HALL-With the 2025 track and field season approaching, the Central Mountain Wildcats are preparing for another competitive year under head coach Ellie Sikorskas. The team is looking strong in several key areas and aims to make strides in jumps and throws while continuing to perform well in sprints and distance events.

Coach Sikorskas believes the team is well-positioned in sprints, distance races, and throws heading into the season. While those areas are expected to be strong, she hopes to see continued growth in jumps and throws, which could provide valuable points in competition.

The Wildcats bring back several standout athletes who are expected to be key contributors this season. Leading the way are Grace Keohane, Damien Winner, Sam Wible, Macy Plowman, Cooper Bottorf, Jonathan Hughes, Billy Newman, Bryce Warren, Vivian Wilt, and Jocelyn Wiseman. These athletes will provide leadership and experience across multiple events.

While Sikorskas did not name specific new athletes, she expressed confidence that several underclassmen and newcomers will make an immediate impact on the team. With a deep roster, the Wildcats will look to develop fresh talent to strengthen all event groups.

The Wildcats have set ambitious goals for the season, both individually and as a team. Many athletes are focused on setting personal records, qualifying for invitationals, and earning spots at the district and state championships.

Central Mountain expects to face strong competition throughout the season. While every team presents its own challenges, Sikorskas highlighted Shikellamy, Selinsgrove, and Williamsport as particularly tough matchups.

With around 80 athletes on the roster, the Wildcats maintain similar numbers to last season. However, an increase in boys’ participation could provide additional depth and strength in key events.

The Wildcats will be led by head coach Ellie Sikorskas, with support from Scotty Bair and Clayton Courter. The program also benefits from volunteer coaches who help develop the athletes throughout the season.

As the Wildcats prepare for competition, they are focused on hard work, improvement, and making their mark in the 2025 season. With a strong returning core and promising new talent, Central Mountain is poised for success in the months ahead.
