Central Mountain Falls to Hollidaysburg in District 6 Class 5A Semifinals

HOLLIDAYSBURG – Central Mountain’s postseason run came to an end on Tuesday night as the Wildcats fell to Hollidaysburg, 60-27, in the District 6 Class 5A semifinals.

Hollidaysburg used a strong second quarter to take control of the game, outscoring Central Mountain 19-7 to build a 35-16 halftime lead. Kasen Metzger led the Tigers with 15 points, while Vincent Albarano added 10. Hollidaysburg maintained its defensive pressure throughout, holding the Wildcats to just 11 second-half points.

Hunter Hoy led Central Mountain with nine points, while Max Verrelli and Darius Shade each knocked down a three-pointer. Despite a competitive opening quarter, the Wildcats struggled to keep pace with the top-seeded Tigers, who steadily extended their lead.

Hollidaysburg advances to the district final, continuing its strong season after finishing 16-2 in the Laurel Highlands Conference. The loss concludes Central Mountain’s season with a 9-14 record, finishing 5-5 in Heartland-I play.
