Police Blotter February 17, 2025: PA State Police – Lamar Barracks
Criminal Trespass
WAYNE TOWNSHIP— On February 17, 2025, at approximately 5:58 a.m., Lindsay Wagner, 40, from Linden, went to Truck Lite located at 786 McElhattan Drive. Wagner had been previously told not to return to the premises, with the consequence of facing a Criminal Trespassing charge. According to the report issued by PSP Lamar, she will now be cited for Criminal Trespass through Magisterial District Court 25-3-01.
Disorderly Conduct
PINE CREEK TOWNSHIP— On February 13, 2025, PSP Lamar responded to a report of a farm tractor that was blocking a vehicle and preventing it from moving from its parked position. Through investigation, it was determined that Gerald McKernan, 72, of Lock Haven, moved the farm tractor behind the vehicle on purpose in an attempt to identify the operator. The incident resulted in McKernan being charged with Disorderly Conduct through Magisterial District Court 25-3-01.
Assault/Law Enforcement
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP— On February 11, 2025, at 2:17 p.m., PSP Lamar troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Eagle Valley Road and Crystal Beech Road on Brandon Bitner, 42, of Mill Hall, who was already known and wanted by state police. Despite the emergency lights and sirens, Bitner did not yield and nearly collided with a patrol cruiser before leading them on a chase. According to the report, after stopping his 2001 Honda Accord, Bitner exited the vehicle wielding a machete-like weapon, threatening the officers and ignoring their commands. He intensified the situation by picking up a small gas container and attempting to throw it at the troopers while threatening to set them on fire. Despite his resistance, troopers managed to apprehend him using less-than-lethal methods. Bitner now faces several charges, including Aggravated Assault, Fleeing and Eluding, Terroristic Threats, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest, and numerous traffic violations. The case is pending in court.
DUI
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP— On January 27, 2025, at 2:59 p.m., PSP Lamar troopers were dispatched to the Walmart parking lot in Mill Hall to assist an ambulance with a fall victim who was allegedly intoxicated. The fall victim, identified as a 64-year-old female from Jersey Shore, was later taken into custody for the suspicion of DUI.
Harassment
NOYES TOWNSHIP— On January 25, 2025, at approximately 11:58 a.m., PSP Lamar was contacted by the victim of a physical domestic incident involving a 56-year-old male from Renovo. It was also reported that EMS was responding to the residence on Gratzmar Avenue due to the injuries that were sustained. Upon arrival on the scene, troopers discovered that the victim had been injured, and the defendant was taken into custody and transported to the Clinton County Correctional Facility for charges of Simple Assault and Harassment.
Fire – Undetermined Origin
GREENE TOWNSHIP– On December 21, 2024, the PA State Police Fire Marshal Unit, alongside the Sugar Valley Fire Company Chiefs, investigated a fire at 306 Rockey Road. The blaze began in the attached garage and spread to the attic of the residence. Investigators suspect a possible malfunction in the chimney system of the wood-burning stove in the garage as the cause. However, due to the extensive damage, other potential causes could not be ruled out, so the fire’s origin remains undetermined. The fire caused an estimated $500,000 in damage, according to a report from PSP Lamar. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Motor Vehicle Accident
GREENE TOWNSHIP— On December 19, 2024, at 2:54 a.m., Brandon Wallace, 39, from Clearfield, lost control of the Peterbilt 379 truck he was driving on I-80 East near mile marker 189.8. The vehicle veered off the road and hit a rock wall on the north berm. Wallace sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to UPMC Lock Haven. The truck was towed by Bressler’s Towing.
Motor Vehicle Accident
BEECH CREEK BOROUGH— On December 17, 2024, a crash took place near 42 Main Street involving Shane Farley, 32, from Lock Haven. According to the report, while driving south on Main Street, Farley experienced a medical emergency, causing his vehicle to veer off the road and hit a light pole in the Uni-Mart parking lot. His vehicle continued moving southeast, colliding with a gas pump before stopping approximately two feet away from it. Farley was not wearing a seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. He was transported to UPMC Lock Haven.
Shooting – Accidental
MILL HALL BOROUGH— On December 11, 2024, at 7:18 p.m., PSP Lamar responded to reports of a loud noise, suspected to be a gunshot, near North Water Street and Silo Road. Several PSP units surveyed the area and identified the source of the noise, determining that it was unrelated to any gunshots or criminal activity. Authorities confirmed the area was safe and secure.
Hit and Run
GREENE TOWNSHIP— On December 1, 2024, at 7:05 p.m., a collision occurred on I-80 near mile marker 184 when a 2013 Lexus RX Series in the left lane sideswiped a Honda Accord driven by 18-year-old Timothy Dupill from Princeton, MA. The collision caused Dupill’s car to hit a guide rail on the north shoulder. The offending vehicle left the scene of the accident, continuing west without stopping. Dupill followed until mile marker 182.5 before pulling over onto the shoulder of I-80. His car sustained damage to the front and rear. No injuries were reported.
Hit and Run
BEECH CREEK TOWNSHIP— On July 27, 2024, at about 3:38 p.m., PSP Lamar responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash involving an unresponsive driver near 600 Monument Orviston Road. Investigations revealed that a second vehicle was involved in the incident. Both vehicles collided with their driver-side mirrors while navigating a curve in the road. The mirror from what is believed to be a Ford 150 or 250 with tow mirrors struck a 62-year-old man from Huntingdon Valley in the head through his open window, leading him to crash into a wooded area and sustain serious injuries. The other vehicle fled the scene, heading west on Monument Orviston Road. PSP Lamar is asking for help in identifying the other vehicle and those involved, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact PSP Lamar at 570-726-6000 and ask for Trooper Fusco.
