Central Mountain Girls Rally in Fourth Quarter to Defeat Williamsport, 56-52
WILLIAMSPORT – The Central Mountain girls basketball team erased a nine-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter with a dominant 21-8 run, securing a 56-52 comeback victory over Williamsport on Tuesday night. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the Lady Wildcats, who improved to 9-10 on the season.
Trailing 44-35 after three quarters, Central Mountain found momentum in the final frame with a balanced offensive effort. Camdyn Weaver led the charge with 18 points, including a pair of crucial free throws down the stretch. Lena Walker knocked down three three-pointers on her way to 12 points, while Ava Doyle provided a steady presence inside, finishing with 15 points, including 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.
Williamsport’s Nadirah Tutler led all scorers with 25 points, going 8-for-15 from the line, while Khamya Moate added 14 points. Despite a strong first half and an 18-point third quarter, Williamsport struggled to contain Central Mountain’s late-game surge.
The Lady Wildcats will look to build on this momentum with back-to-back road games, visiting South Williamsport on Thursday before traveling to Milton on Friday.
