LHU Women’s Basketball wins fifth straight, downs Bloomsburg on the road

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven women’s basketball outscored Bloomsburg in every quarter en route to a 66-60 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) victory on the road on Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 29).

With the victory, the Bald Eagles extend their winning streak to five games to improve to 14-5 overall and 9-4 in the PSAC East. Lock Haven holds a two-game lead to first place in the Eastern Division over Bloomsburg, who moves to 13-7 overall and 7-6 in conference play.

Jenadia Jordan led three Bald Eagles in double figures and finished with 16 points (7-of-10), four rebounds and three assists.

Reigning PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week Alana Robinson added 15 points, eight rebounds, three steals and a block.

Madeline Evans rounded out the group of double figure scorers with 13 points and seven rebounds.

Olivia Smith dished out a team-high four assists.

Lock Haven jumped out to a 16-11 lead in the first period and headed into the break with a 33-20 advantage. In the first half, The Haven 9-of-25 shooting from the field and shot a scorching 67 percent in the second period (8-of-12).

The Bald Eagles led the rebound battle 18-7 and forced eight Huskie turnovers in the half.

The Bald Eagles continued to distance themselves in the third period, where they outscored Bloomsburg 15-11 to ultimately put the game out of reach.

Next up for The Haven:

The Bald Eagles return home on Saturday (Feb. 1) at 1 p.m. to host West Chester in Thomas Fieldhouse in a PSAC East contest.
