Galaxy Arts Program at Bucktail

Bucktail’s students have been busy creating a ceramic mural for display in their school. In March and April, Terry Johnson, a tile maker from the I.U. #10 Galaxy Arts program, has been sharing her expertise with two of Mrs. Madenford’s afternoon art classes. Combining digital photography, printmaking, and tile making have been the focus of the tile mural mosaic titled, “A Day in the Life of Bucktail.” The technique applied in this project is relatively new on the art scene, lithography on clay tiles. “The students have learned an innovative technique, one that was even new for our artist in residency. They were able to experience all of the successes and failures that come along with art and then help to problem-solve to overcome the challenges.” – Mrs. Madenford, Art Teacher at Bucktail Middle/High School
