LOCK HAVEN – While the state police investigation continues into the Easter death of a Renovo woman, a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July for her husband facing charges in the ongoing case.

The preliminary hearing has been announced for Tuesday, July 7 at 10:15 a.m. for William “B.J.” Snyder, charged with tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse, the charges related to the death of his wife, 34-year-old Kelley Jo Snyder.

The husband remains in custody at the Clinton County Correctional Facility in default of $500,000 bail after his apprehension in Horseheads, NY on April 10. His arrest came after he left the area after telling police of a kidnapping scheme which proved to be false. A day later, state police said, based on information from Snyder, they recovered his wife’s body in the Halls Run area of Noyes Township, near South Renovo.

An autopsy was completed more than a week ago but authorities are awaiting the return of toxicological tests to determine the cause and manner of Mrs. Snyder’s death.

The funeral service for Mrs. Snyder will be held this Saturday, visitation at the Maxwell Funeral Home in Renovo from 1 to 3 p.m. with a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. at the North Bend Cemetery.
