CU-Lock Haven campus community helps local families in need this holiday season through annual Adopt A Family program
LOCK HAVEN-The Commonwealth University-Lock Haven Community Service Office recently hosted an event to help local children and families in need have a joyful holiday through its 23rd annual Adopt A Family project, in partnership with the Salvation Army in Lock Haven.
Members of the Lock Haven campus community were asked to donate gifts to children in need and volunteers were provided a wish list of items the children had requested.
The Lock Haven campus community provided 70 local children with an abundance of gifts. Without the support from the campus community, many of these children would have had a less fortunate holiday. Approximately 140 campus student, faculty and staff volunteers provided more than 280 hours of community service to the project this year. The average estimated dollar amount spent on each child was $100.
Each year the Lock Haven campus community provides overwhelming support and generosity to this project. Everyone’s support helps serve local families in need.
