WOODWARD TOWNSHIP – It was “business as usual” Tuesday evening at the Woodward Township Supervisors meeting.
At the top of the agenda was the 2025 Woodward Township budget showing no tax increase for township residents.
Woodward Township Officer Greg Drollinger was promoted to Corporal. Chief Steve Falotico spoke of his 20 years of experience serving the public in various law enforcement environments and said he and the supervisors agreed to promote him.
Supervisors received correspondence from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for their Lock Haven Great Strides Walk 2025 taking place on Friday, May 30 from 2:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Riverview Park.
“This has been going on for multiple years and we will waive the rental fees for them,” Chairman Kyle Coleman said.
Supervisors thanked St. John Masonry for donating their services to do concrete work at the end of the new walkway in the township.
“They donated their services to do the concrete project and we will be placing a bench there in the spring in memory of the young man, Gavin Frey, who drowned in the river during the summer,” Coleman praised. “There will also be a tree planted on the site in memory of Ron Young.”
Correspondence was also received from Kira Rosamilia, Tourism Director at the Clinton County Visitors Bureau, who requested to install a Lumber Heritage Region trail sign along the new walkway.
Riverfest is also being planned as a with the bulk of the planning taking place within the first quarter of 2025. The dates for Riverfest will be a week before normal, in an effort to separate Riverfest from the July 4 holiday. Riverfest 2025 is currently being planned for Thursday – Saturday, June 26-28. Mark Schlesinger of WSQV Radio will also be bringing back the cardboard boat races and using the event as his annual kick off for Toys for Tots.
Lastly, the township reorganization meeting has been set for Monday, January 6 at 8:00 a.m.
A brief executive session started off the meeting to discuss legal and insurance policy issues.
