LHU’s Rager & Furey power pack; Men’s Cross Country places second
HOUGHTON, N.Y. – Jakob Rager and Gavin Furey finished fourth and fifth individually, and powered the Lock Haven men’s cross country team to a second-place finish today (Saturday, Oct. 12) at the Highlander Invitational, hosted by Houghton University.
In all, three Bald Eagles cracked the top-10 as The Haven men finished second of 10 in the team standings with 40 points. Behind a 1-2 individual finish, RIT edged out Lock Haven for first with 34 total points.
Rager was fourth in 25:42.7 (8K) and Furey was fifth in 25:47.0. Kristian Mizdail was seventh of 140 finishers in 25:52.6.
Evan Klinger placed 10th in 26:22.9 and Owen Hibell ran 26:42.1 (14th).
Colin Simander and Cade McLaughlin rounded out Lock Haven’s top-seven finishers today with solid outings of 26:49.3 (20th) and 26:50.8 (23rd).
The Bald Eagles will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Mike Woods Invitational hosted by Geneseo.
