CM Band Earns Silver in Style
WELLSBORO-The Central Mountain Marching Band had a memorable weekend, starting with their performance at the Central Mountain football game in Montoursville on Friday night, followed by an impressive showing at a Tournament of Bands competition on Saturday.
The band wowed the crowd at Wellsboro High School’s stadium with their performance of “The Hills Are Alive.” The competition, hosted by Tioga County schools, included ten bands and a special appearance by the Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania-Mansfield Marching Band. Central Mountain earned an impressive second-place finish with a score of 83.160, missing first place by less than half a point in their group of five bands.
The students were thrilled with their strong performance, especially since it was their only scored competition of the 2024 season. Looking ahead, they are eager to participate in more competitions next year. Adding to the excitement, the band debuted new uniform jackets over the weekend. “We’ve had people come up to us saying how much they’ve enjoyed our show, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the direction the band is going,” shared one of the band directors.
Be sure to catch the Central Mountain Marching Band at the two remaining home football games and upcoming events like the Flaming Foliage Festival and holiday parades.
