Bucktail Tennis Falls to South Williamsport, Prepares for Montgomery Match
FARWELL-The Bucktail Lady Bucks tennis team faced a tough challenge against South Williamsport, falling 5-0 in a Mid Penn League matchup on Monday. The loss moves Bucktail to 6-4 overall and 1-3 in league play.
Despite a strong effort, Bucktail struggled to find momentum against a solid South Williamsport team. In singles play, Eva Sockman fought hard at the No. 1 spot but was defeated by Livy Harvey 6-2, 6-1. McKenna Bissman also faced a difficult match, falling to Emma McLaughlin 6-2, 6-0. Rounding out the singles action, Lola English battled but came up short against Emily Holtzapple 6-2, 6-3.
In doubles competition, South Williamsport continued their dominant play. The pairing of Mylee Morrison and Sidney Ertel proved too much for Bucktail’s Matti Mason and Riley Salizzoni, winning 6-1, 6-0. In the second doubles match, Morgan Ertel and Ava Foote secured a 6-2, 6-0 win over Emma Gentzyel and Carrie Ditty.
With the loss behind them, the Lady Bucks will look to bounce back quickly as they hit the road to face Montgomery in another Mid Penn League match today.
