LHU Volleyball sweeps Lincoln on the road
LINCOLN UNIVERSITY – The Lock Haven volleyball team swept the Lincoln at Lincoln University on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 21). The Bald Eagles won in three straight sets, 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-21).
The Haven dominated the match from start to finish to earn its second victory in the early season.
The Bald Eagles got off to a fast start and won the first set in dominant fashion, 25-17. The Haven took that momentum into the second and racked up ten kills on its way to a 25-12 victory. The Lions were able to rally back in the third set, keeping it close, but the Bald Eagles made a late push to secure the set win, 25-21, securing the sweep.
Kelly Gaston had an impressive day and finished with 21 assists, three digs, and six points for the Haven, coming from two kills and three service aces.
The trio of Evie Jane Rembold, Reagan Irons and Olivia Cook led the way for the Bald Eagles in kills, finishing with seven, six and five, respectively.
Irons and Natalie Acevedo led the defense, as both secured six digs.
Acevedo led the teams with four aces as Lock Haven finished with a match-high of 10.
With the victory, the Bald Eagles improve to 2-6 and the Lions move to 0-6.
