LHU Field Hockey wraps up weekend at Terrapin Invitational
COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Lock Haven field hockey team dropped a non-conference battle at Maryland University, 8-1, on Sunday (Sept. 15) on the final day of the Terrapin Invitational.
The Haven kicked off the scoring just 1:09 into the game when Elien Bos found the back of the cage to give the Bald Eagles an early lead.
The Terrapins responded with two scores to close out the first quarter and after a shutout by both teams in the second, Maryland led 2-1 heading into the break.
However, Maryland scored four goals in the third quarter to poll away before sealing the victory.
In cage, Kelsey Felix made a game-high 11 saves in 40 minutes of action, while Maja Halasz added a save in the final 20 minutes.
Three different Bald Eagles recorded a shot on goal.
Lock Haven moves to 1-5 on the season and Maryland improves to 4-2.

The Bald Eagles return to Lock Haven, Pennsylvania to host La Salle at 3 p.m. on Friday (Sept. 10) for their Atlantic-10 (A10) opener. The Bald Eagles have declared the contest as their (Hero Day).
